The foundation exists to protect the core commitments of TruIndex as it grows:
- No token.
- No reward.
- No redemption.
- No ranking of individuals.
- No sale of contribution data.
- No money flowing to or from individual acts.
The foundation’s role is to hold the project, fund the work, support the first pilot, and make sure the record never becomes the thing it was created to resist.
Why Open Collective
TruIndex is using Open Collective so support for the project can be visible and accountable.
Every contribution supports the organization and its work: research, design, technology, pilot coordination, community outreach, administration, and public documentation.
This support is separate from the record itself.
- Giving to TruIndex does not buy recognition.
- It does not create status.
- It does not place anyone in the index.
- It does not affect what gets recorded.
It simply helps the work exist.
What support funds
Support may be used for:
- Research and documentation.
- Design and development of the first pilot.
- Community coordination.
- Legal and administrative setup.
- Writing, publishing, and public education.
- Careful review of the project’s risks and safeguards.
What support never funds
Support never becomes a reward for individual contribution.
- It never pays people for marked acts of care.
- It never buys a badge, score, rank, or profile.
- It never gives supporters influence over the record.
- It never turns TruIndex into a marketplace.
Founding participation
Founding participation means helping establish the organization and its principles.
- It is not a status ladder.
- It is not a public rank.
- It is not tied to contribution volume.
- It does not grow over time.
If founding participants are ever publicly acknowledged, the acknowledgment will be plain, optional, alphabetical, and unrelated to amount given or activity performed.
